Erbium shouldn't exist in the quantities it does — and mostly, it doesn't. A rare earth element, scattered through the planet's crust in trace amounts, almost never found in concentrated deposits. When it's finally isolated and oxidized, something unexpected happens: it turns pink. Not pale pink. Not rose. A vivid, saturated, almost electric pink — one of the most intensely colored oxides in the entire periodic table. The color isn't added. It's what erbium becomes when it meets oxygen.

The Erbium 68 Pink Faceplate carries that same intensity. A fluorescent pink finish so saturated it sits at the edge of what surfaces are allowed to be — too electric for nature to produce reliably, engineered to hold that charge permanently. Like erbium, it's a color that had to be coaxed into existence. Unlike erbium, it didn't take millions of years.
