During a solar eclipse, the moon's shadow falls in two zones. The umbra — the full shadow, where the sun disappears entirely. And the penumbra — the partial shadow, where the sun is dimmed but not gone. Observers in the penumbra see the world altered: light reduced, colors shifted, edges softened. Not darkness. Something more unsettling than darkness.

The penumbra is the zone where you can still see everything — you're just not sure you're seeing it correctly.

The Penumbra Smoke Faceplate finish doesn't hide the hardware beneath. It filters it. Everything is still visible, just slightly removed from itself.
